LHS LIBRARY POLICIES & PROCEDURES
Library Access: We have an open-door policy. Students are welcome to come in before school, after school, and during both lunches with an approved application. Lunches are during the Academic day and will therefore only be open for academic purposes (i.e. quiet homework, studying, reading). During classes, students can come in as long as they have a hall pass approved by their teachers (EXCEPT for Academic Period--see below). Students can renew, return, and get new books, use Chromeboxes, print, read, study, and use our space and MakerSpace supplies for collaborative projects.
Student Expectations
- Students must have a teacher-approved hall pass–only exceptions are badges from your ELA teachers for books business only.
- All students must check-in with library staff.
- Drinks are allowed, but no food unless provided by LHS staff, or on a library lunch pass.
- Clean up after yourselves (includes spilled drinks–if a spill is left, drinks will no longer be allowed)--check with staff for supplies–we have paper towels and a vacuum cleaner.
- No cell phones allowed, for any reason.
- Be considerate to others at all times, this includes library staff.
Lampasas Library Policies (as stated in your student handbook).
- Books may be checked out for 15 school days, and renewed online or in person. Please see the librarian if material is needed longer than allowable renewals.
- Students must pay the purchase price of all lost or damaged books.
- All lost or damaged book fines are nonrefundable.
- If unable to pay, contact your librarian for assistance. Students will not be able to check out new books until their library account has been resolved.
- Books or library materials still checked out on the last school day will be marked as lost.
- If not returned in good condition by September 1st of the following school year, students must pay the replacement cost in order to check out any additional books.
