Welcome back to another school year. As I continue my 27th year as an educator working with students with special needs and their parents, I will be embarking on my 7th year as LISD Transition Coordinator.

 

My job as Transition Coordinator is to facilitate the growth of the student while collaborating with parents, community professionals, and school district staff. I strive to ensure successful transition for students from secondary school to the adult community, including work, future education, living, and community participation.

 

The transition process is designed to help your son or daughter move smoothly into adult life. Transition planning will become part of the Individual Education Plan (IEP) and will be reviewed and updated each year. This planning will focus on the student’s interest and ability, along with plans for their future.
